We’re hunkering down now that winter is finally here. Lots of snows days give us a good chance to catch up on some reading for the guys at the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER!, whether that is with our traditional books or with digital editions.
However, some of our reading habits will be changing in the weeks ahead. Last week, Marvel announced that they are changing their digital edition program beginning the first week of February. For the last five years, buying a Marvel comic book also gave you a code to download that comic as a digital edition. Codes could be sold, traded, shared, redeemed or never used. Going forward in February, Marvel will be including a code, but it will be for three different books that tie-in with upcoming collection releases or future events. Jerry, John, and Cullen share their thoughts on the change to the program, and how that will impact sales going forward.
We also talk about some of our recent reads, and share some love for the many strong solo female books from Marvel right now – think Mighty Thor, Scarlet Witch, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and so much more. Cullen gives the guys a new What’s In A Name Switcheroo, where they have to guess the character name based on the origin story.
We want to give some shout-outs to some friends of the show.
- Please check out Nicholas Forristal and his new short comic, 5 Man Midget Death Squad!
- Jerry makes a guest appearance on the Soundtrack Alley podcast to talk about the original Star Wars movie!
