John Lucas

Earlier this month, Jerry traveled to Lebanon, MO, for the inaugural MEGA Con. While there, he took part in the first Midwest Geek Summit podcast as well as hosted three panels. Last week, we posted the panel with actor John Dugan. Today, we are sharing interviews that Jerry did with two comic creators: John Lucas and Roland Mann.

  • 0:00:00 – 0:08:35: Jerry and Brent Kincade share their thoughts about the new Doctor Who companion, Day 1 of the Lebanon MEGA Con, and plans for the 100th WCPE podcast to be recorded this week at Planet Comicon.
  • 0:08:35 – 0:33:15: Jerry interviews artist John Lucas on getting into comics, the challenges of penciling and inking, and what comic creators’ books fill the spinner racks in his studio. To see John’s current work, check out Farrago Comics and take a look at Shrinkage.
  • 0:33:15 – 1:12:30: Jerry visits with comic writer and editor Roland Mann about working at Malibu Comics in the 1990s, the acquisition of Malibu by Marvel Comics, and teaching a college class on comic writing. He’s got a Kickstarter coming up later this year, and we expect Roland to join us on a future podcast to give us the inside scoop on the new project.

A big thank you goes out to the Lebanon MEGA Con for inviting WCPE to the show, and to John Lucas and Roland Mann for their respective interviews.

We are the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER!, and we hope you enjoy the show.
